This was taken the night I arrived. My face is showing a mixture of exhaustion from traveling all night without sleep as well as ten years of gravity that has pulled my entire face downward. You might possibly even detect a slight smidge of apprehension about my upcoming surgery! |
See how the jawline is breaking down? The corners of my mouth are moving south as are the jowls and neck. |
From this angle, you can really see the chicken neck starting to happen. I can't wait for Dr. Lev to do his magic on that neck! |

This pic was taken of Dr. Lev and me by Dr. Greenwood in my hospital room the morning of my surgery (6-20-07) right before they took me downstairs to Preop. Actually, I don't remember this at all as I had already been given that lovely shot of Dormicum which all patients receive the morning of surgery. Trust me, I couldn't ever have another surgery without it. They have this drug in the states as well. It's called Versed and they used to use it only on children before surgery, but then they discovered there's a child in all of us so now they give it to all the patients before surgery...at least they do in Costa Rica at the Cima Hospital. |
Drs. Lev and Greenwood with me in the preop salon (don't remember this at all!). |
That's me on Dormicum, Dr. Greenwood checking my IV and Nurse Jackie. |

 |
 |
My last pose with Dr. Greenwood, anesthesiologist extraordinaire, immediately before surgery. I'm showing off the IV in my wrist. Why? Because I'm high on Dormicum and don't know what I'm doing!! |
One last shot of Drs. Lev and Greenwood before I go bye bye for the next few hours! And no...I don't remember any of this! |
Immediately after surgery in the Recovery Room. |

 |
 |
Awake in Recovery...now they can bring me to my room. |
Hospital Administration sent up an arrangement of beautiful flowers for me, delivered by Ms. Ofelia Ramirez, Head of Public Relations (and dear friend)...and I'll be darned if I remember any of this!! I'm so happy I thought to give my camera over to Dr. Lev and Anabelle, the nurse, to take charge of taking all the pictures both the day of and the day after my surgery. |
Here's sweet Anabelle, nurse-friend and at my side till the next morning. |
