One of our wonderful, awesome past patients kindly transferred footage Didi took
in 2003 with her personal camcorder onto a dvd and added another more
professional dvd made by Cima Hospital showing pictures of the hospital and
describing their services and such creating a 30 minute look into the Costa Rica
experience. The part Didi took isn't all that great, but with a Dramamine you
can get through it without getting too nauseous!
Didi takes you on a personal tour starting with she and Dr. Lev driving to the Villa Plenitud (it was the first time Didi drove in Costa Rica!!) so Dr. Lev could see patients there. You get to meet Ron, the owner/operator of the Villa Plenitud recovery retreat, a patient or two who agreed to appear on the video (most patients were camera shy, for obvious reasons!) and you get to see the Cima Hospital from Didi's perspective (a little shaky, but you do get to see quite a bit of it).
You also get to meet the dentists in their old offices. Drs. Rubinstein and Cordero (of Prisma Dental) wave hello to the camera and welcome you to Costa Rica, expressing their hope that you will one day come to see them (don't forget the valium!!!!!!)
I've given these dvds out to several people who say that even though it's was shot by an obvious non-professional (except for the last seven minutes which is the Cima Hospital professional video) it was good to see.....nice to "meet" the doctors (you also get to meet Dr. Greenwood, the anesthesiologist) and see the hospital and the Villa Plenitud recovery retreat. Oh and you also get to meet one of our private duty english speaking nurses taking care of one of the patients.
Since this was shot, the dentists moved into a brand new building of their own. Their lab alone is as large as their entire old office space.
